Sheldon M. Schenkler, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Sheldon M. Schenkler is the Chief
Financial Officer of Novations Group, Inc. In this role,
Mr. Schenkler is responsible for all of the financial
operations of the company as well as information technology
and legal services. Prior to joining Novations in February
2006, Mr. Schenkler’s career as a financial executive
included being the Chief Financial Officer for several
public and private companies, with an emphasis on enhancing
shareholder value, strategic planning and systems
improvements.
Most recently, Mr. Schenkler spent five years as the Chief
Financial Officer and Treasurer of ChildrenFirst Inc., a
venture-backed private company and the country’s
leading provider of corporate-sponsored backup child care.
Mr. Schenkler was instrumental in leading the company to
sustained profitability by implementing metrics-driven
management techniques, efficiency improvements, and a
proprietary real-time management information system. Mr.
Schenkler became a proponent of the company’s Human
Qualities Initiative and worked extensively with the sales
organization to develop client ROI and productivity
measurement tools. Mr. Schenkler then led the
company’s successful sale to Bright Horizons. Mr.
Schenkler also spent ten years as the Chief Financial
Officer for Cambex Corporation, a public company that
designed and developed computer memory, hardware and
software. While at Cambex, Mr. Schenkler developed the
company’s investor relations program and managed a
four-fold increase in revenues and a ten-fold increase in
shareholder value. The company was recognized by Business
Week as one of the top technology growth companies in the
United States.
Prior to Cambex, Mr. Schenkler spent nine years, the last
six as Controller, with Instron Corporation, an
international public company, which manufactures scientific
material testing equipment. Mr. Schenkler began his career
in Boston with the public accounting firm Arthur Andersen,
where he earned his CPA certification.
