Novations Four StagesŪ of Contribution Research Expands into Asia

Research Explores the Workplace Issues that Influence and Inhibit Employee Performance Globally

BOSTON, MA, December 3, 2009, Novations Group, Inc. (www.novations.com) today announced the expansion of its Four Stages® of Contribution research project to include employees in mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, and Japan.  Novations has partnered with Right Management in Asia (www.right.com) to identify and solicit organizations to participate in the program, and Leading Indicator Systems (www.leadingindicator.com) to design and implement the assessment, with data collection scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2010.

To mirror the increasingly global marketplace, Novations will compare the data against its U.S. research findings with the aim of helping organizations leverage all talent, both within the United States and abroad.

“Organizations that want to remain competitive need to think about their workforce globally, and find ways to leverage the skills of all employees regardless of location,” said Paul Terry, Vice-President of Global Partnerships at Novations.  “Neglecting to consider the development of employees internationally leaves talent on the table and this is not an option in today’s competitive business world.”

The Four Stages research is addressing the “do more with less” conundrum facing organizations today, seeking to identify how employers can optimize performance through better utilizing more employees, and better understanding their employees’ strengths as well as their developmental gaps.

Collected with the partnership of several leading organizations in the U.S., the results include information on the contribution and development of over 1700 managers and direct reports.  Data was collected from 2007-2009 and has resulted in three white papers to date:
• How and “Y” One Generation Will Change Business, exploring generational challenges and the impact of Gen Y
• Mind the Gap, examining manager and employee performance rating discrepancies
• Ethnicity: Reducing the Effects of Bias in the Workplace, exploring the impact of ethnicity and race on development programs

A fourth white paper examining the impact of gender will be published later this year, and the complete U.S. findings will be published in early 2010.
