Increasing the Number of Women and People of Color

With rapid growth and a preoccupation with numbers, a large
manufacturing company had created a culture that didn't
develop future leaders fast enough and where representation
by women and people of color was low.
After settling a sexual discrimination class action suit, a
shareholders group demanded the company “adhere to a
higher level of accountability” on the issue of work
force diversity, “in an effort to help minimize the
potential of future liabilities.”
